INDIA VS SRI LANKA 2ND ODI OF MICROMAX SERIES

India vs Sri Lanka 2nd ODI Match Report

Sri Lanka Blow India In 2nd ODI

Sri Lanka Make India Ashamed

India vs Sri Lanka 2nd ODI
That seals a comprehensive win for Sri Lanka in 2nd ODI. They have absolutley demolished India in 2nd ODI and have come back in a very strong manner. After skittling India out for a low score, the Sri Lankans made merry with the bat and piled on the pressure right from the start. Dilshan played his natural game by going after the bowling while Tharanga displayed some immaculate timing.

This is India's second worst defeat in terms of balls remaining 181. Their worst was also against
Sri Lanka, 209 balls in Dambulla in 2010. Let's not forget that hammering in Sharjah where they were bowled out for 54, though they were chasing on that occasion. Just shows how Sri Lanka have roasted India in the past.

So much talk about the wind on the ground...must say the India was blown away. Bad dreams happen, but India shouldn't let this bring down their confidence ahead of the remaining games. The conditions in Colombo will be better. When they look back at this game, apart from analysing their batting flop, the wides will be scrutinised. Fourteen wides in 20 overs is unacceptable. Everyone struggled. After the impressive performance in the 1st ODI.

Thisara Perera Man of the Match in 2nd ODI
After loosing Indian skipper MS Dhoni says, "We lost too many wickets too quickly. After Virat fell, we lost too many. Very disappointed. We need to learn from our experiences and not think too much about these defeats. Gambhir batted really well. In the last 5 games we have had some good performances from our batsmen and bowlers."

After winning Mahela Jayawardene told the press, "It's funny what two days does to you. I thought we didn't field that well today. We have shown that we can bounce back, the guys have the hunger. I haven't seen Upul Tharanga bat like this in a while, his timing, his form. Good to see the old Upul. Isuru was a bit nervous, Thisara and Angelo did the job for us."

Thisara Perera has been named the Man of the Match. And he express his feelings like that, "Very happy with my performance. Have to thank my team-mates. My first priority is bowling. I don't think too much about my performance."

INDIA VS SRI LANKA 1ST ODI OF MICROMAX SERIES

India vs Sri Lanka 1st ODI Report

India Wins Over Sri Lanka In 1st ODI

India vs Sri Lanka 1st ODI of Micromax Series

India vs Sri Lanka 1st ODI

Phew! India made a meal of this in the final overs. Sangakkara played a wonderful knock and Thisara chipped in with a wonderful cameo. But, in the end, the asking rate was too much and Sri Lanka were always behind the eight ball. Malinga got some batting practice towards the end. Barring Irfan Pathan who bowled well, all the Indian bowlers were carted around. The Indian fielding was also very sloppy and they have a lot of work to do ahead of the second ODI.
One must say that Sangakkara's knock made a difference in a strange way. He batted too slowly as he got to his hundred and the asking rate mounted. When the time came to accelerate, it was too late.
It was a very good match to watch and its a day for Team India. As a result India led the 5-match series 1-0.

India vs Sri Lanka 1st ODI
After the match Sri Lankan skipper Mahela Jayawardene says, 'It was a tense match. We had some big hitters towards the end but we left it a bit too much. It was hard coming back against a quality side like India. It was important to try and set up a platform. Sangakkara was setting up a platform and looked to battle through. We did not have momentum coming into the last 10 overs. There were a lot of positives but there were a lot of casualties. Kulasekara and Malinga are the two key guys in the powerplay. We made some mistakes while fielding and we will learn from this defeat. We have been playing some good cricket and we need to brush up on certain areas.'

Indian skipper MS Dhoni share his view about the match after the match, 'The rustiness was not there. The death bowling needs to improve. Zaheer was good and Irfan did very well. If he bats well and bowls well, it gives us the stability. Without Yuvraj or Jadeja, it is hard to find the stability in both batting and bowling in the team. All the bowlers have their own variations and we have to back ourselves to execute our strengths. Gambhir was unfortunate to get out that way but Sehwag and Kohli batted well. We were lacking some firepower down the order. It is important for the batsmen to carry on once settled in. I was practising the toss for one and a half months. This toss was crucial and the wicket was difficult to bat on in the second innings. Sangakkara batted well but he ran out of partners.'

Kohli Man of The Match
Kohli announced the man of the match for his extra ordinary century. Kohli scored 106 in 113 balls. He says about his performance, ' I have been working hard. I hope to be consistent for the team this season. Performing for the country is of utmost importance and I look to give my best for the country. Doing well in Australia boosted my confidence. I was more sure of my game and that Test hundred gave me a lot of confidence.'

BANGLADESH WASH OUT IRELAND

Bangladesh White-wash Ireland

Bangladesh vs Ireland 3rd T20 Match Report

Bangladesh vs Ireland 3rd T20 Update

Tigers won The Series
What a finish again. One run yesterday and last ball today! I think that we have all got our breath back after the end of the game. Bangladesh win the last game by two wickets and so win the series 3-0. The truth is in the last 2 games it was much closer then that.
Superb show from Bangladesh. They seemed to be down and out at one stage, but fought back superbly. Mashrafe was the man. He followed up his 4 wickets with some blistering blows to seal the isue. Bangladesh are now ranked at No. 4 in the ICC table above the likes of Pakistan, Australia, India, New Zealand and West Indies.Mortaza has been named Man of the Match for both his bowling and his batting. He took 4-19 and then hit a quick fire 30 off 13 balls, which won Bangladesh the match today.

Bangladesh Hammered Ireland

Bangladesh Hammered Ireland

Bangladesh Crushed on Ireland

Bengal Tigers Roar Loud

Bangladesh vs Ireland T20
Bangladesh crushed hosts Ireland by 71 runs in the opening Twenty20 at the Civil Service Cricket Club in Stormont, Belfast on Wednesday to take a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series. It was a strong batting show from the Bangladesh as they piled up 190 for 5 after they were put into bat first by the Ireland Captain William Porterfield. Chasing 191 to win, Ireland stumbled to 119 for eight from their 20 overs as they could not handle the left arm spin of the relatively unknown 26-year-old. Shakib Al Hasan hit 71 for Bangladesh with Ziaur Rahman smashing five sixes in his 40 not out.
Bangladesh vs Ireland T20
After losing the toss and being put in by Ireland, it was slow going early on for Bangladesh as Tamim Iqbal and opening partner Mohammed Ashraful struggled to find the boundary, having to settle for ones and twos. With the score on 34 without loss in the fourth over, Ashraful decided to up the tempo smashing a slower ball from first change bowler Max Sorensen through point for boundary. However, the South African-born medium bowler got his revenge the next delivery as the former skipper's attempted drive rattled into the stumps via an inside edge.
Bangladesh vs Ireland T20
New man in Shakib Al Hasan hit four boundary in five balls to inject some life into the innings at the end of the seventh over and into the eighth. Two more boundary of  Boyd Rankin two overs later pushed Bangladesh to 93 for one at the end of the 11th, but the Tigers lost Tamim Iqbal next over for a run a ball 31. John Mooney took the catch, falling backwards at long on, with the opener looking to smash Paul Stirling for a maximum.
Shakib Al Hasan kept the scoreboard ticking along, but his entertaining knock came to an end with the first ball of the 13th over as, waltzing down the wicket to Stirling, the ball turned and clattered into the stumps.
Bangladesh vs Ireland T20
Wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim went the next over, mis-timing a Boyd short ball to William Porterfield at mid-wicket. However, the Tigers fought back with some force as they hit four over boundary in four balls as Stirling was twice smacked into the stands by number six Ziaur Rahman while Mahmudullah repeated the trick with the first two deliveries of the next over off the bowling of Sorensen. The 26-year-old, however, gained revenge with the last ball of the over as the allrounder was caught by Stirling to leave the visitors 154 for five.
Bangladesh vs Ireland T20
Ziaur Rahman was in no mood to let up, hitting maximums off Trent Johnson in the 17th and Sorensen in the 18th to move to 30 from just 13 balls, while a over boundary off the penultimate delivery off Alex Cusack helped propel his side to a useful-looking 190 for five.
Bangladesh vs Ireland T20
Porterfield kept those in the crowd ducking for cover, hitting over the rope twice in the first two overs, adding two more boundary for good measure. His bright and breezy knock was soon to end as, coming down the wicket to Abdur Razzak, he missed the ball and was stumped by Rahim for 26 from 16 balls.
They were two down four balls later as danger man Stirling - who had an impressive Twenty20 campaign for Middlesex - was run out thanks to a direct hit from mid-off.
Bangladesh vs Ireland T20
Niall O'Brian and Ed Joyce departed in consecutive balls in the eighth over off  Elias Sunny, the latter going first, pulling to Ashraful, before the former was stumped by Rahim.
Bangladesh vs Ireland T20
It signalled a collapse for the hosts as Kevin O'Brien was bowled by Razzak for a duck before Mooney was bowled by Sunny. Ireland were 64 for seven when Cusack was bowled to become Sunny's fourth victim and Johnson lasted just five balls as Razzak caught the former skipper to give Sunny his fifth victim.
Gary Wilson's impressive unbeaten knock of 41 from 36 balls meant Ireland avoided a humiliating scoreline, however the hosts will be hopeful of a better performance when the two face off again on Friday.
Elias Sunny got the man of the match award. Bengal Tigers lead by 1-0 in the series.

India Pakistan Resume Cricket Ties

India Pakistan Cricket Series 2012

India Invites Pakistan for A Cricket Series 2012

India Pakistan Resume Cricket Ties

The Pakistan Cricket Board on monday swiftly welcomed the first proposed cricket series with India in five years, saying millions of fans would be delighted. PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf told local television channels that Pakistan was still waiting for a formal invitation for the series, but said "it seems it will surely be held later this year". India's cricket chiefs said they had invited Pakistan for a tour later this year, which would be the first in five years if approved by their governments.
India Vs Pakistan
The working committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) invited Pakistan for the series, likely to be three one-day internationals, in December-January. "The decision is great and we welcome it. It seems that millions of cricket fans have their wishes fulfilled," said Ashraf in Pakistan's eastern city of Lahore. "We are still waiting for a Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) invitation for the series, but it seems it will surely be held later this year."
Former Pakistani skipper Imran Khan on tuesday termed Pakistan-India series taking place in December this year in India, as a positive step towards peace between both the countries. Talking to newsmen here at Marghzar cricket ground at the opening ceremony of Mobilink Jazz Summer Cricket Camp for children organized by National Press Club, Imran Khan hailed the PCB chairman and his counterpart's efforts in resumption of the cricket ties between both the countries. "It is a great step in making relations better between Pakistan and India," Imran Khan said, who is also the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Asia Cup 2012
Imran Khan while praising NPC's efforts for organizing sports activities for children, said sports is a healthy activity as it makes everybody physically fit and makes a person mentally strong. Imran Khan said that player succeeds in the game of cricket who learns from his mistakes and rectifies them. "When I was working for the making of Shaukat Khanum hospital, I had to go through many difficulties but it was cricket that didn't let me tumble and I stood firm through the difficulties and succeeded in my plan," he said.
MS Dhoni and Shahid Afridi
Imran Khan said a person who refuses to lose in the game or in life always succeeds. "A person with a strong willpower cannot lose in any game or in life,"

On monday cricket diplomacy appeared to be back on the agenda when the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced it had invited Pakistan for a series of bilateral matches on 22 December, after the England team completes its India tour.
If all goes to plan, the Pakistan team will play three one-day internationals (ODIs) on Indian soil, as well as two Twenty20 matches. The decision prompted hopes that political relations between the two countries were finally warming up following almost four years of decidedly frosty dealings.

Shahid Afridi vs Gautam Gambhir
But in Mumbai, where the wounds of the attacks remain raw, the opposition and ruling parties of the Maharashtra state parliament reacted angrily to the news. "We should consider allowing them to come to our country only after Pakistan clears its policy on international terrorism," said Ramdas Kadam, leader of the local Shiv Sena party.
Abu Azmi from the Samajwadi party in Maharashtra added: "Pakistan is a culprit in the terror attacks in Mumbai. How can we have sporting relations with them?" Sunil Gavaskar, a former Indian international batsman, said: "Being a Mumbaikar I feel: what is the urgency when there is no co-operation from the other side?"
Shoiab Akhtar vs Shachin Tendulkar
The visit was organised after heavy lobbying from Pakistan, said Rajeev Shukla, a senior official at the BCCI. "The PCB has been very persistent over the past few years on resuming cricketing ties with Pakistan and if you remember we have also played against Pakistan even after the 1971 war and after the 1999 Kargil war … we have played a series in Pakistan," he told reporters in Delhi. Asked whether the India team would soon play in Pakistan, Shukla said: "Until the security situation in that country is conducive, there is absolutely no question of India travelling to Pakistan."
India cancelled a tour of Pakistan in 2009 and ever since, the two arch-rivals have only faced each other in multi-team events such as the World Cup. The neighbours last played in a bilateral series in November 2007, in which India beat Pakistan 3-2.
Winning means a lot to both sides, said Pradeep Magazine, a cricket writer on the Hindustan Times. "Whenever India plays Pakistan, the streets are deserted; everybody is inside watching the match. We want to win. People here are willing to forgive India a lot, but not a loss against Pakistan."
